Hello, fellow dreamers! It’s almost feeling like spring (and Dream Flags) are finally here.  For resources on how to decorate your flags, put them on a line, or anything else (!) please check out the web site where we’ve posted some new resources and news.

Each year when April arrives, we hope that Dream Flags will be out and flying in our communities everywere. For some ideas on how to share your flags, check out our Share section on the web site.

We also host a Dream Flag Celebration here in Philadelphia and invite everyone interested to participate by sending Dream Flags which we will exhibit. We have improvisational music and percussion, reading by representative student poets from each school or group attending, and our symbolic joining of the Dream Flag Lines across all of the three balcony levels surrounding the Kimmel Center glass atrium where we hold our clebration. It’s a sight that inspires us just as much every single year.

We would love to include your (or some of your) flags in this celebration! We do our best to take video and photos to share with everyone. This year is our fifth anniversary, and we’d love to have as many flags to exhibit as possible.  Our day is Saturday, April 19th, so we’d like to receive flags by the 7th of April if possible.  We also have opportunities to send the flags on exhibits in and around the Philadelphia region. Here’s a link to last year’s exhibitions.  (More details on this year’s exhibitions coming.) We mail the flags back to you after the exhibitions.

Here’s what we need to know. Please REPLY to this email and let us know.

Do you expect to send some or all of your flags to us by April 7th for our April 19th Dream Flag Celebration?:

If so, how many flags do you expect to send?:

We’d also like to know if you expect to be having a celebration at your school or in your area. If so, can you tell us a little about it? We’d love to know.

Lastly, we have our our 2008 Fifith Anniversary Dream Flag Tee-Shirts ready and available. We sell them for $10 each and can take orders from teachers (not individuals) for a class or group. It’s a great way to share what you’re doing , and you never know where you’ll run into a fellow Dream Flagger! Last year, all 47 students in White Mountain, Alaska got the 2007 tee-shirt, and their teacher told us that any day in the summer, it was not ususual to see a Dream Flag tee-shirted person walking around town! Wear yours, and you’ll find fellow dreamers! Here’s a link to the On-Line Order.
