2006 Dream Flag Exhibition Sites

The Dream Flags are scheduled to be on exhibit from May 1st to May 14th. They will be in places where thousands will see and enjoy them daily. We hope you will too!
Thanks to Dream Flag volunteers Meg Ryan and Sandy Crow for setting these up!

The Cira Centre is a new landmark building in Philadelphia and is connected to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. Our Dream Flags will be exhibited along the glass enclosed pedestrian bridge that connects the building and 30th Street station. Walkers going to and from the trains station will see our flags daily!
visiting the flags: This area will be open to the public. If you go to 30th Street Station, go to the area for the commuter trains. The pedestrian bridge is up an escalator at the end of that wing. It's clearly marked.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will again exhibit Dream Flags at various points in their building where they will be seen and read by staff and patients. In the past, they have exhibited them in a pedestrian bridge (right) and in a long-term care facility for children undergoing treatment. This year, some of the patients make Dream Flags too! The hospital is located in West Philadelphia in the neighborhood of the University of Pennsylvania.
visiting the flags: Most of the flags are in patient areas, but if you are visiting the hospital, you could ask where they are exhibited.

Temple University Children's Medical Center will be exhibiting our flags for the first time. They will be on display in their airy front lobby. All children, parents, and staff will be able to see them going in and out of the hospital. Temple University Children's Medical Center is located in north Philadelphia on Broad Street just north of Allegheny Ave.
visiting the flags: The flags are in a public area, and you can see them any time the hospital is open. See their web site for hours.

Ludington Library

Ludington Library in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania is displaying our flags. We have many participant schools in the Bryn Mawr region. We hope that families will come by the library, check out a poetry book, and enjoy the flags!
visiting the flags:  The Library is at 5 S. Bryn Mawr Ave. See their site for hours.

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in North Philadelphia will be exhibiting Dream Flags for a second year. Their building has an airy atrium that extends the height of the building, so it is a great place for the Dream Flags to hang. Last year they put them in part of this public space, and we expect that will be the case this year as well. Children, parents, and hospital staff will again read and enjoy the messages of hope that come from each Dream Flag line.
visiting the flags: St. Christopher's is located on Erie Ave. and N. Front St. in Philadelphia. We expect the flags to be in public space, so ask at the front desk if you can visit them. If you want to call ahead, it's 215-427-5000.

Philadelphia City Institute Library is a local neighborhood library in Center City, Philadelphia. For the third year, students in their after-school program have created Dream Flags, and they will be exhibiting them and others in their children's department.
visiting the flags: The library is located at Locust and Spruce Streets. The children's department is downstairs. See the site for hours.

The School District of Philadelphia Education Center, (School Board Building)  located at 440 N. Broad Streets (just a few block north of City Hall), will be featuring Dream Flags from Philadelphia public schools as part of a district-wide exhibition of student art. The building's center is a wide atrium extending several stories up, and they'll be mounted along the railings.  Many teachers, students, administrators, and community members will have the chance to see and learn about the wonderful Dream Flags being created in some of Philadelphia's public schools.
visiting the flags: You can check at the front desk of the building to find the flag locations. They may be on the 2nd or 3rd level of the building. We are not yet sure about how accessible they will be to the public. You can call the building at ## to find out.

The Fairmount Arts Crawl is an all-day outdoor affair featuring local artistic expressions of all kinds.  Weather permitting, Dream Flags will be exhibited along Fairmount Avenue around 20th Street.   Volunteers will be explaining the project and handing out information about the Dream Flags. See their web site for location and time details.
visiting the flags: This is for one day only--Sunday, April 30th. It is free and open to the public. Check out the flags along with all the other fun offerings of this great arts festival.

Philadelphia Citizen's Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, will host a Dream Flag exhibit in the entrance area of their VIP entrance. (It's the place they felt most safe exhibiting them.)  They will probably be near the elevators.
visiting the flags: If you're going to a Phillies game in the first two weeks of May, stop by and ask to see them. We don't know how accessible they will  be, but you can find out and tell us! The entrance is along Patterson Ave.

Bryn Mawr Hospital exhibited Dream Flags in their obstetrics unit last year, and will again be hosting and exhibit this year. The Dream Flags will be displayed where they can inspire expecting parents (and veteran parents) with hope for a better world.
visiting the flags:
The hospital is located on 130 S. Bryr Mawr Ave. You can ask about flag locations at the front desk. The hospital number is 866-CALL-MLH.
