Details:

April 16th Regional Dream Flag Celebration at the Kimmel Center.

Driving Directions: See Kimmel Center Web Site directions. Most area parking is in lots.

Order of Events:

  • Between 10:15 and 10:30: An coordinating teacher from each school arrives with Dream Flags for display. You will check in and be assisted by an event staff person for orientation and placement of the Dream Flag lines around the perimeter of the Kimmel Center. This takes some time, so please arrive by 10:30.
  • By 11:30 all students who are readers or flag holders should arrive. They need to get badges from the coordinating teachers. Students can bring a light snack if you like. There's also a cafe at the Kimmel, but it's pricey.
  • At 12:00 noon the program starts. It will include introduction, rhe Dream Flag song, eading of the poems with improvisational music, display of the dream flags, connection of the flag lines, and closing by 1:30.
  • From 1:30 to 2:00, flag lines will be left out for display so everyone can walk around and see some of them. (We expect 1,400 altogether.)
  • At 2:00 Flag lines are collected by each school's coordinating teacher and delivered to the registration desk if they are going on exhibition in the Philadelphia area. (They will be mailed back to you after the exhibitions.)
